Brees or Mahomes

It’s week 13 in the NFL. The season is winding down to a close, and so far this season has been all about the high scoring offensive powerhouses like the LA Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, LA Chargers, and the New Orleans Saints. All of these teams are very capable of putting up 40+ in a single night, with the Chiefs and the Rams putting up 50+ on each other! So the question is, who will the NFL's MVP be? Will it be Patrick Mahomes or Drew Brees?

The second year QB is putting up insane numbers over the course of the season, he has 3,678 passing yards, with 37 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. On top of these numbers, he hasn’t thrown for less than 300 yards in 11 out of the 13 games, which were the Chiefs vs the Chargers and the Chiefs vs the Cardinals. The Chiefs with Mahomes are 9-2 with the second overall offense being 3rd in passing and 14th in rushing this year.

The thing that might not get Mahomes the MVP is what Drew Brees is doing down in New Orleans. So far this season, Brees has been nothing but spectacular. The Saints are tied with the best record in the NFL at 10-1. Brees is on track to break his own record of completing 72% of his passes, with his completion rate at 76% on the season. So far he has 29 touchdowns to 2 interceptions, with 3,135 passing yards. The Saints have won 9 of their last 11 games by double digits with their offense being 1st overall and the 6th and 7th ranked passing and rushing offenses respectively.

Both players are incredible and are clearly leading the MVP race, and this time we might have to wait until the end of the 2018-19 season to figure out who the real MVP is. When it is all said and done, Mahomes will walk out with the MVP award this year.
