Why Transformers is...Bad?
Writer: Kameron Henry
When I was a little kid, I loved waking up on Saturday morning to watch cartoons. My favorite cartoon was Transformers. When I heard they were making a movie from the cartoon I was ecstatic, until I saw it…
To be completely honest I'm not saying that the movie was bad. On the contrary, it was actually a decent action film, in a sense. When Hollywood decided to make a modern Transformers film, they thought of these movies solely as money-makers, rather than the riveting action-filled story that the entirety of the show accumulates to be. Instead of having an intuitive, sit-down type meeting to roll out a cohesive storyline; they settled for lesser quality and more quantity (‘quantity’ being the number of explosions they could manage per minute). Essentially, Hollywood said, “Let’s throw the plot into our action movie creator, and make a whole lot of money.”
These movies had so much potential to make, not only an entertaining movie-going experience; but, also a meaningful one. It’s a shame that the end result was just another basic and; therefore, unfulfilling action movie. Let’s hope our cinematic powerhouses start trending towards capturing the magic of film instead of exploiting it for financial gain. Feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts and opinions.
