North Texas is Going to the Cotton Bowl

HOT SPORTS OPINION INCOMING: Yes, the UNT Screamin’ Eagles are going to be going to the Cotton Bowl this year. There are many underlying factors that will all come into play this year. Let’s go over them one by one to fully understand the season that the Mean Green are about to pump out.
This year UNT has a decent schedule for a C-USA team. In their out-of-conference play, the hardest opponent they face is Big 10 foe, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Last season was an odd one for the 8-5 Hawkeyes. They started off early in the season losing to FCS North Dakota State, (a very demoralizing loss), but late in the season they beat the Michigan Wolverines who were one of the best teams in the nation. This year though, I foresee UNT coming out hot after crushing Lamar and edging SMU in Dallas. With this big win under their belt, 2nd year Head Coach Seth Littrell will power the Eagles through their conference schedule. The only loss will be to Army, who is equipped with a red-hot offense and a shut down defense that they might not be able to penetrate. 12-1 record going into the Cotton Bowl against Florida. UNT lost to them in the previous season 32-0, and will be looking for some sweet, sweet revenge.
24-21 F/OT, UNT wins.
Seth Littrell is in his second year coaching the Mean Green and in one season took the team from a 1-11 record to 5-8 with a bowl game appearance. This man has great composure. He has been plotting his revenge campaign to beat Florida in the Cotton Bowl quietly in Denton all year long, and it’s time to take effect. In UNT’s first game against Lamar they took off and never looked back. Their 59-14 win against Lamar is nothing to scoff about. OU battered UTEP 56-7 which is a comparable score if you ask me. Like Lil Wayne, Littrell is gonna ball til they turn off the field lights.
One thing that can hype up a team just as much as anything else is some new threads. Luckily for UNT, they have some tight new Nike jerseys this season.
The Eagles are coming in hot with green, white, and a special alternate black which will give them enough hype to strut onto the field and dominate. It’s just science.
With these three key points in mind, it can quite easily be deduced that the North Texas Mean Green football team will make the Cotton Bowl this year. You can trust me, it’s just simple math.
